海馬とは

「海馬」は記憶の司令塔と呼ばれる部位で、 記憶力が高い人ほど体積が大きい傾向にあることが知られています。

一方で、ストレスや生活習慣の悪化を敏感に感じ取り、それが原因で体積が小さくなり、脳の老化に最も先行して30代より萎縮が始まると言われています。 また、認知症や特定の疾患をお持ちの方は、健常者と比較して海馬の体積が小さい傾向にあります。
